Don't let the words that you manifest in your chest,
And travel up your throat,
Only to be choked down,
To drown,
And drag you down with them,
Words are power, and you are powerful,
Allow them their freedom, say what you mean,
Breath life into them,
Don't stay quiet when words are hot and hurting, burning in your lungs, waiting to escape.
To hold them imprisoned is to lock yourself up, away, choking on silence, and waiting,
For what?
For a better way to say?
A better time?
A better day?
A better world in which to make your way?
Don't allow formalities to take your voice away.
We have all been to passive under the guise of nice when we can speak. And I for one sincerely apologise for lulling you into that false security.
